This week we called Yatra for the Google Flights Travel mobile app. But never fear, the information you got on the travel app is now located on two other Google sites.
Google Maps and Google Flights now have information about hotels, restaurants and other places of interest – just like you can find on Google Trips. And new features were added to flights only, helping you save some money on your next adventure.
Many airlines forget to go to airline websites and travel sites to find a good price. We’ve put together five of Google’s flight tips to help you find the best deals on airline tickets.
Track Seasonal Price Trends
If you are flexible with your time, you can almost always find good deals. If you want to know how prices have historically moved over a period of time, click on the price graph icon.
This will bring up a bar graph where you can see that prices usually rise or fall. For example, if you want to go to London in December, the best time to get cheap tickets is the beginning of the month.
From December 7 to December 11, a round-trip ticket for Phoenix to London departure costs approximately $ 720. But if you really want to see London during the holidays, the cheaper price for a four-day, round-trip ticket from Phoenix exceeds $ 1,700 in a single day.
You can keep track of ticket prices with a graph, or you can toggle on the price tracking tool. Google Flight will email you alerts when prices are low or rising.
Cheapest day to fly
Again, this tool works better if you are flexible. Click on the date grid icon and a calendar will pop up.
Unless there is a holiday, you will find that the prices are usually cheaper if you travel on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Prices start climbing from Sunday to Thursday.
If you have a normal time when you want to travel, hang loose and the price tracking tool will alert you when prices come down. You can then decide when to book your flight.
